Abstract:   The focus of this session is HPC in industrial settings. Insight is given through five case studies for the successful usage of HPC to solve industrial problems. The session is complemented by a talk about a well-established public-private partnership that allows common usage of HPC systems by public and private organizations. The variety of industrial cases covers classical applications like automotive engineering and energy engineering. The importance of big data is highlighted through a concluding talk.
