Abstract:   In order to achieve higher performance under increasingly stringent power and reliability constraints, future Exascale architectures and applications need to be co-designed jointly in an integrated manner. The key concept is meeting system level objectives by exploiting simultaneously the application-architecture tradeoffs through a concurrent design process. This session covers several important topics from the wide range of areas and challenges related to co-design. The first presentation gives an overview of the basics for application-architecture co-design using the asymptotic performance approach. The second presentation takes us further into practical and accurate methodologies for co-designing a variety of use cases.
