Dr. Joseph Reger

Chief Technology Officer, Fujitsu Technology Solutions, Fujitsu

A renowned industry expert and visionary, Joseph is recognized for his ability to understand and predict the IT trends that will benefit companies most.
Working with Fujitsu’s customers, he helps to determine and implement the innovations most appropriate to their strategy. Within Fujitsu itself, Joseph is a key driving force of the technology strategy for the International Business Group’s Central Europe, Middle East, Africa and India (CEMEA&I) region. His role is paramount in helping Fujitsu choose wisely when deciding on technology directions.
Joseph has held the title of Chief Technology Officer (CTO) since 2002, in the days of Fujitsu Siemens Computers. As CTO, he has steered the company and customers in real-life Dynamic IT and Mobility implementations. In his role he has also inspired and architected the company’s Dynamic Infrastructures strategy. Most recently he has been instrumental in developing Fujitsu’s Cloud Computing Strategy and in creating the company’s Solution Business Unit.
Joseph joined the company as Head of Technology Marketing in 1998 from IBM, where he acted as Executive Consultant and Chief IT Architect.
Joseph started his career in academia, in the field of physics and computer sciences research. He has studied and worked at Universities in Hungary, Norway, USA and Germany. In the US he spent three years as a visiting scientist at the University of California in Santa Cruz, engaged in interdisciplinary research of complex systems. Having obtained his PhD at the University of Cologne, Joseph continued to attain the highest German academic degree (habilitation) at the University of Mainz.
