Dr. Xavier Lapillonne

Scientific Developer, Center Climate Systems Modeling, ETH Zurich

Xavier Lapillonne is a scientific developer at the Center for Climate System modeling which is a joint center between MeteoSwiss and the ETH Zurich, Switzerland. He is currently involved in the Swiss HP2C (High Performance High Productivity) initiative aiming at adapting the Numerical Weather Prediction model COSMO to future architectures. He received a PHD in physics from EPF Lausanne in 2010, where he worked on massively parallel codes to simulate turbulence in hot plasmas. His main research interests are high performance computing, GPU computing, physical parametrizations and turbulence modeling.
