Dr. Franck CappelloSenior Computer Scientist, Argonne National Laboratory
Franck Cappello moved in April as a senior computer scientist to Argonne National Laboratory, where he is starting a group on resilience.
Before joining ANL, Franck was senior researcher at INRIA developing research mainly on fault tolerance for HPC. In particular, he started and directed the MPICH-V at Inria, one of the most cited fault tolerant MPI projects. Since 2009, he is co-director with Marc Snir of the INRIA-Illinois Joint-Laboratory on PetaScale Computing where he leads the Resilience/Fault Tolerance effort. He is also leading the roadmaping effort on Resilience/Fault Tolerance for EESI2 (European Exascale Software Initiative) and led similar efforts for IESP (International Exascale Software Project) and EESI1.
