Walid Abu-Sufah is an associate professor of computer engineering at the University of Jordan and an adjunct associate professor of electrical and computer engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). At the University of Illinois, he was the leader of the performance evaluation group for the CEDAR multiprocessor project at the Center for Supercomputing Research and Development (CSRD) of and a visiting scholar in the Intel/Microsoft/UIUC Universal Parallel Computing Research Center (UPCRC) where he was involved in performance models studies for multicore. His current research interests include performance models for applications tuning on multi/many core processors and automatic tuning of sparse matrix kernels for GPUs.
