Dr. Johannes Reetz

Senior Manager Data Services, Garching Computing Center of the Max Planck Society

Johannes Reetz is Senior Manager Data Services at the Garching Computing Centre of the Max Planck Society, and he is Operations Manager of European data infrastructure project EUDAT. He received a PhD in natural sciences from the University of Munich (LMU) in 1999. He worked at the LMU observatory, the ESO Data Management Division, and since 2000 at the Max Planck Institute for Plasma Physics, initially developing data acquisition software for nuclear fusion experiments. Since 2004, he was involved in the European HPC project DEISA, in German national grid and data infrastructure projects, and since 2011 in EUDAT and iCORDI, a European platform for supporting the collaboration of research data infrastructures and key driver for the Research Data Alliance.
