Achim Streit studied Computer Science in combination with Electrical Engineering and received his diploma from Dortmund University, Germany, in 1999. In 2003 he received his PhD in Computer Science from Paderborn University, Germany, working on resource management and scheduling for HPC systems and Grids at the Paderborn Center for Parallel Computing (PC²). In 2005 he moved to the Jülich Supercomputing Centre (JSC) at Forschungszentrum Jülich, Germany, where he was leading the division “Distributed Systems and Grid Computing” until June 2010. Since July 2010 he is Director of the Steinbuch Centre for Computing (SCC) and professor for Computer Science at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany.
